How do I report issues with sidewalks or curb ramps?

Call 311 and report to the Department of Transportation. NYC DOT’s goal is to make the City’s sidewalks safe for pedestrians and help prevent injuries caused by defective sidewalks.

Sidewalks should be free of cracks or holes and have an even surface. NYC relies on property owners to maintain the sidewalk adjacent to their property, including repairs and removal of snow, ice, or debris. Property owners are responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining sidewalks adjoining their properties. Visit the NYC DOT’s website for more information.
